Role Overview:
We are seeking a Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our Pharmacy Department. The successful candidate will support efficient and safe dispensing of medications, provide guidance on drug usage, and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital standards. This role requires a professional who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work in a dynamic hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
• Dispense medications accurately and in line with prescriptions.
• Advise patients on proper use, storage, and possible side effects of medications.
• Ensure availability of essential drugs and maintain proper stock levels.
• Participate in daily stock-taking, ordering, and inventory control processes.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, stock movements, and controlled drugs.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, hospital protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
Qualifications:
• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
• Registration and valid license with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
• Non-committed licence
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology and dispensing practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Professional integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to patient safety.
• Flexible with work shifts, including weekends and public holidays and ability to work night shifts.
