COMMUNITY HEALTH OFFICER II
Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Implement community health policies, strategies, and programs in line with
national and county health priorities.
(ii) Conduct community health needs assessments and participate in planning and
implementation of health interventions.
(iii) Coordinate, supervise, and mentor Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) and
community health committees.
(iv) Promote health education and behavioral change communication at the
community level.
(v) Conduct household visits, community dialogue, and action days on key health
issues.
(vi) Collect, compile, and analyze community health data and prepare periodic
reports.
(vii) Identify and refer clients in need of curative, preventive, and
rehabilitative services to appropriate facilities.
(viii) Support disease surveillance, outbreak response, and health promotion
activities.
(ix) Establish and maintain linkages between the community and health facilities.
(x) Promote inter-sectoral collaboration and community participation in health and
development activities.

Requirements for Appointment:
(i) Bachelor’s degree in Community Health, Public health, Community Health and
Development, or, Health Education, or related field from a recognized
institution.
(ii) Proficiency in health education, community health assessment tools, data
analysis software, electronic health records systems, and Microsoft Office
Suite.
(iii)Minimum of 2 years of experience in community health, public health
programs, health promotion, or related roles. Experience working in
underserved communities is desirable.
(iv) Proficiency in computer applications.
(v) Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
