CLINICAL OFFICER (PSYCHIATRY)
Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Conduct mental health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for
patients.
(ii) Prescribe and administer psychiatric medication under supervision
where applicable.
(iii)Provide counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention services.
(iv)Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers in
patient management.
(v) Manage psychiatric emergencies and referrals.
(vi)Maintain accurate patient and clinical documentation.
(vii) Participate in community mental health outreach and awareness
programs.
(viii) Promote preventive mental health programs within the community.
Requirements for Appointment:
(i) Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine,
Community Health from a recognized institution.
(ii) Higher Diploma in Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
(iii)Registration and valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers
Council.
(iv)Proficiency in computer applications.
(v) Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
