CLINICAL OFFICER (OTHTHAMOLOGY)
Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries of the eye.
(ii) Perform minor ophthalmic surgical procedures.
(iii)Conduct vision screening, refraction tests, and prescribe corrective
lenses.
(iv)Participate in eye health outreach programs and community screenings.
(v) Advise on prevention and management of eye diseases.
(vi)Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
(vii) Refer complex eye cases to ophthalmologists for advanced
management.
(viii) Train and guide lower-cadre staff on eye care services.
Requirements for Appointment:
(i) Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine,
Community Health from a recognized institution.
(ii) Higher Diploma in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
(iii)Registration and valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers
Council.
(iv)Proficiency in computer applications.
(v) Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
