CARDIOLOGY NURSE
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Assess, monitor, and care for patients with cardiac conditions.
(ii) Prepare and assist patients undergoing cardiac procedures and
diagnostic tests (e.g., ECG, echocardiograms, stress tests).
(iii)Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects.
(iv)Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes and cardiac
rehabilitation.
(v) Maintain and operate cardiac monitoring and life-support equipment.
(vi)Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams in patient
management.
(vii) Maintain accurate nursing records and ensure continuity of care.
(viii) Participate in emergency cardiac care and resuscitation.

Requirements for Appointment:
(i) Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
(ii) Higher Diploma in Cardiology Nursing or related field.
(iii)Registration and valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of
Kenya.
(iv) Certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added
advantage.
(v) Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
