NEPHROLOGY NURSE
Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Provide pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis nursing care to patients.
(ii) Operate and maintain dialysis machines and related equipment.
(iii)Monitor patients’ response during dialysis and manage complications.
(iv)Educate patients and families on renal health, diet, and treatment
compliance.
(v) Maintain infection control and safety standards in the dialysis unit.
(vi)Keep accurate patient and equipment maintenance records.
(vii) Collaborate with nephrologists and dieticians in comprehensive
patient care.
(viii) Participate in renal replacement therapy programs and research.

Requirements for Appointment:
(i) Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized
institution.
(ii) Higher Diploma in Nephrology Nursing.
(iii)Registration and valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of
Kenya.
(iv) Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
(v) At least two (2) years’ experience in a renal or dialysis unit is an added
advantage.
(vi) Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
