Entry Requirements:
An officer at this level shall report to Manager Corporate Communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Managing stakeholder relations, promoting partnerships in tree growing, managing external correspondences and customer care.
2. Conducting stakeholder’s research
3. Coordinating the outreach programs/activities by providing answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs), and service queries
4. Incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the KFS brand, both online and off line
5. Content creation in collaboration with process owners – writing online posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels
6. Social media public relations and communications– creating, managing and growing the Service presence through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other strategically relevant online properties
7. Events and event planning– coordinating industry events and managing exhibitions, open days and other corporate events.
8. Managing incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns
9. Managing any online feedback forums
10. Implementing strategic communications plans and supporting the Service to manage its corporate image.
11. Advising on internal and external communication channels.
12. Managing the Service CSR activities and facilitating CSR activities by stakeholders.
13. Promote public values and principles

Additional Information:
Person specification
1. Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Journalism, International Relations or other related fields of study from a recognized institution
2. Master’s degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Journalism, International Relations or another relevant course from a recognized institution
3. Management course of not less than four (4) weeks.
4. Eight (8) years relevant work experience out of which 3 years should be at the level of management
5. Member of professional body –PRS
6. Knowledge in environmental matters as added advantage
7. Meets the requirement of chapter six of the constitution
8. Fulfils the requirements of chapter of the constitution of Kenya
Skills and Attributes
1. Conversant with the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
2. Member of a professional association such as PRSK
3. Good oral and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English
4. Time management and proper planning
5. Good analytical skills
6. Skills in resource mobilization and stakeholder engagement
7. Policy implementation, target setting and delivery of work plans
8. Team player
