Duties and responsibilities
1. Formulate, interpret, reviewing and ensuring implementation of existing policies relating to Forest Protection, intelligence security, investigation and prosecution, Forest law Enforcement Academy departments.
2. Development of resource mobilization strategies for the departments of Forest Protection, Intelligence Security, Investigation and Prosecution and Forest Law Enforcement Academy
3. Preparing and implementing strategic plans, operations budgets and work-plans for Forest Protection, Intelligence security, Investigation and prosecution, Forest Law Enforcement Academy in line with Performance Contract.
4. Exercise delegated command and control functions cascaded to various ranks in respective departments.
5. Offer advisory services to relevant staff committees for management of protection and security cadre
6. Coordinating and participating in administering discipline and welfare of protection and Compliance staff.
7. Undertake protection and security of forests resources, service installations and personnel.
8. Enforce compliance of laws and regulations governing Forest conservation and allied resources.
9. Advise management on implementation of forest Law enforcement strategies.
10. Carry out special operations, forest firefighting and disaster response
11. Submit daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly regional security reports
12. Submit daily briefs on Forest protection, fire and Special Operations, Forest health surveillance for action
13. Reclamation of forest land from encroachment and illegal acquisitions
14. Management of Security Communication Radios and installations.
15. Coordinating and participating in the inter-agency liaison and partnership with relevant stakeholders.
16. Coordinating, preparing and participating in Protection and Security operation orders and instructions.
17. Responding and coordinating disaster, emergencies and forest fires preparedness and suppression
18. Analysis and dissemination of intelligence reports for timely decision making
19. Train and enhance capacity of for intelligence officers
20. Dissemination of need-to-know and actionable intelligence information at tactical, operational and strategic levels
21. Conduct investigations in line with policies, laws and regulations and submit timely reports

Additional Information:
Person specification
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Security, Forestry, or relevant social science studies or relevant from recognized institution
2. Master’s Degree in Security Studies or relevant Social Science from a recognized institution
3. At least ten 10 years in security field four (4) of which in the senior management or equivalent with experience in Investigation, prosecution, Intelligence, or College Administration in Military or paramilitary formation
4. Strategic Leadership Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution
5. National Defence College Course or equivalent is an added advantage
6. Professional qualification and membership where applicable
7. Proficiency in computer applications
