Entry Requirements:
An officer at this level shall report to Senior Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests (Strategy, Partnership and Resource Mobilization)
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Marketing and branding of the Service' products and services
2. Ensuring implementation of effective customer service mechanisms that are responsive to customer expectations
3. Analyze sales/revenue reports and advise on necessary marketing changes
4. Explore and develop potential commercial business opportunities available to the Service
5. Determine appropriate pricing and marketing strategies that can optimize benefits for the Service
6. Proactively originate new business activities through engaging existing and new clients.
7. Proactively develop customer centric strategies for KFS’s new and potential clients based on their identified or projected needs.
8. Review reports on competitors’ offerings to understand each target markets, identify gaps or opportunities and develop strategies to address emerging issues.
9. Present regular reports on KFS forestry business status
10. Ensure optimization of revenue generated from licenses and agreements
11. Oversee activities for domestic, regional and international tourism markets
12. Participate in tourism fairs
13. Oversee establishment of linkages with tourism stakeholders
14. Implement policies related to licenses and wayleaves
15. Develop and review strategies related to ecotourism marketing
16. Coordinate local and foreign investment in ecotourism
17. Lead the introduction and rollout of new products / solutions to existing and new clients
18. Develop and communicate a unique value proposition to identified clients.
19. Initiate the identification of market niches based on KFS’s competitive advantage
20. Undertake Feasibility studies, and develop business plans for potential customers.
21. Review stalled and ailing projects and advice the KFS on how to rehabilitate them.
22. Enhancement of business plans for KFS’s prospective clients.
23. Developing turnaround plans for distressed clients applying for finance from the corporation.
24. Offer client readiness support to bring a funding application to a bankable stage.
25. Undertake business diagnosis to identify gaps and opportunities in governance, strategy and management of the business.

Additional Information:
Person Specification
1. Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields: Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Marketing or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
2. Master’s degree in relevant field from recognized field.
3. At least ten (10) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at a management level
4. Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
5. Professional qualifications and membership to Chartered Institute of Marketers (CIM) or equivalent
6. Proficiency in computer applications; and
