REPORTS TO: PROCUREMENT MANAGER
a) JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Procurement Officer will be tasked with managing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies. This role involves close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to optimize purchasing processes and facilitate seamless interdepartmental operations.
b) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead strategic sourcing, supplier engagement and contract engagement.
• Review purchase requests and monitor item reorder levels.
• Oversee procurement planning, tendering process, budgeting and compliance with procurement policies.
• Coordinate with all user departments to ensure proper planning.
• Oversee and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Maintain strong vendor performance and risk mitigation measures.
• Perform supervisory role to procurement staff to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
c) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply chain management, Business administration or related field.
• Professional certification – CIP, KISM
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Procurement with 2 years in supervisory role.
• Prior experience in healthcare procurement and ERP systems is an added advantage.
