Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
1. Cumulative service period of three (3) years relevant work experience at the grade of Records Management Officer II or in a comparable position;
2. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Science and Records Management, Records and Information Management, Library and Information Sciences, Business Information Technology, Information Studies, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
3. Proficiency in computer applications; and
4. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the storage and maintenance of files, managing file movement, updating records, and ensuring the safe custody and security of all documents.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving and dispatching of mail including maintenance of related registers;
2. Ensuring storage and maintenance of files and records,
3. Managing file movement;
4. Sorting and classifying of documents for filling and storage;
5. Updating and maintenance of records and file index;
6. Controlling opening of files;
7. Ensuring safe custody and maintenance of records and documents;
8. Initiating appraisal, disposal of records and documents;
9. Ensuring that letters are appropriately filed and marked to action officers;
10. Scanning and digitizing records;
11. Ensuring security of electronic files and documents;
12. Undertaking regular inventory of records;
13. Ensuring that data collected is collated, analyzed, and stored;
14. Up-dating and maintaining up-to-date file movement records; and
15. Ascertaining the general cleanliness of the registry;
16. Ensuring safe and conducive working environment;
17. Supervising staff working under him/her.
