SENIOR ACCREDITATION OFFICER- (INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION) GRADE JOB
GRADE CUE 5

(a) Job specification
Institutional Accreditation
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
i. Evaluating proposals on proposed universities and preparing evaluation reports;
ii. Coordinating training of peer reviewers;
iii. Overseeing organization of inspections;
iv. Preparing technical reports; evaluating proposals by institutions seeking to establish satellite
campuses;
v. Evaluating proposals by institutions seeking collaboration on university education;
vi. Preparing briefs on institutions seeking accreditation and upgrading in university education;
vii. Evaluating institutional reports; and
viii. Maintaining status reports on the evaluation of the academic programmes.

(b) Person specification
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
i. A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Education, Business Administration, Law,
Social Sciences or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
iii. Membership to relevant professional bodies and in good standing;
iv. Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
v. Proficiency in computer applications; and
vi. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
