Duties and Responsibilities:-
1. To provide leadership in developing and implementing propoor strategy, and nurturing a Low Income Consumer Services (LICS) Department/unit within the company.
2. To ensure successful preparation and delivery of pro-poor WASH activities within the WSP’s area of jurisdiction
during fundraising, scoping, development and implementation phases of all pro-poor projects.
3. Develop and implement ambitious, commercial-oriented, water and sanitation strategies to reach the un-served lowincome consumers in the area covered.
4. To take lead in developing, fundraising and implementing innovative, scalable and utility-oriented pro-poor water and
sanitation service models in accordance with local context.
5. To manage relations with key Water Operator Partnerships (WOP) consortium partners, International Financial
Institutions e.g. World Bank, AFD and others, in regard to informal settlements works.
6. Manage local partnerships and stakeholders within the WSP service area, to elicit interest and support towards full implementation of utility plans for scaling up services to the low income consumers.
7. To train and support LICS Department/Unit staff in regard to the work in the informal settlement areas/ Low income areas.
8. Develop and implement strategic neighbourhood outreach plans that incorporate landlords and tenants for water supply improvement and management, sanitation marketing and health/hygiene behaviour change components.
9. Provide advice and support to local entrepreneurs, community groups and beneficiaries towards active and sustainable participation in management of new and upgraded water and sanitation service infrastructure
10. To coordinate and manage relations with Low Income Customers and local stakeholders in the LIAs.
11. Adhere to health, safety and security rules and regulations at all time.
12. Perform any other related duties as delegated by Commercial Manager.
